Geek Mash's Top: Quotes

So the movie list went down a storm, now we are going to wander into the world of quotes and emotions.
As always we will have a quote from each of the Geek Mash team and how it makes them feel.

Here is a handy little guide for you all:

PC: Phil
KP: Kayleigh
RA: Ross
MP: Matthew
BF: Brad

CW: Casey

"Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!"
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
-Marilyn Monroe.

I agree with everything but the lies part in this quote (there's people in my life that I'd trust wholeheartedly, so that is out of the equation). However, the rest of this Marilyn Monroe quote is pretty fitting. I do believe things happen for a reason for the most part. My life changed significantly in October of last year after a failed relationship and cancelled wedding. At this point in my life, I felt like I had lost everything, but suddenly this changed. I made a new group of friends who are some of the best people I'll ever know, and met a new boyfriend who makes me feel like I'm worth something. Things are moving pretty well for me right now, and I truly believe that things had to go wrong when they did to get me to this happier, more fulfilled position I am in now. So Marilyn, I nod in agreement. My friends, family and boyfriend all helped me on my way through so that "better things can fall together."

"Surely you can't be serious. I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."
MP: For me, I came across this only recently, I will admit I am not the greatest of comic readers, however I have a love for the art, the story and the characters.

Now as we all know, recently there was an anniversary to mark a very dark day in modern history.
This day affects some more than others, but regardless it was a day that will be marked in history, I am talking about 9/11.
Now unbeknownst to me, there was comic written about this day, it was featured in The Amazing Spiderman (#36).
Here is the quote:

"Because the story of humanity is written not in towers, but in tears, in the common coin of blood and bone. In the voice that speaks within even the worst of us and says; this is not right."

This quote resonates many emotions within me; sadness, joy, love, hate, humility, hubris and so much more. It is a simple two line quote but speaks so much about people as a race. I think if you ever needed a primer for the regular person, this would be it.

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”
— The Doctor, Season 5, Episode 10

From a very emotional episode of Doctor Who "Vincent and the Doctor" where Amy and the The Doctor travel back in time to France and meet Vincent Van Gogh. I won't go into more detail, all that I ask is for you to watch it and come away with your own thoughts on this quote and if you have seen it you know how much this quote means to not just Vincent, but to everyone watching too.

Mine would have to be from Naruto Shippuden when Jiraiya says

"getting dumped always makes a man stronger, but then again, men aren't meant to pursue happiness" I like it as its true in life.
