Geek Mash on Miitomo!

Miitomo was released in the UK yesterday for iOS and Android. It marks Nintendo's first venture into the mobile market, offering their own unique spin on social networking.

Some of the Geek Mash team have fully embraced this already, and we're loving it. Essentially a lighter version of the bizarre but addictive Tomodachi Life, Miitomo allows for social interaction between friends in a brand new, refreshing way.

Once connected to your Facebook/Twitter accounts, Miitomo will present you with all your friends who are also using the app. Add them, and that's where the fun begins. You'll be able to interact with the Mii versions of your buddies, asking them questions and hearing their answers. As everyone's different, the answers are obviously pretty varied, so it's fun reading all the responses.

You can earn more 'sweets' to unlock friend's answers, as well as earn coins for costumes and tickets for free plays on the mini games. 'Miitomo Drop' is the mini game, which you can play by paying with coins earned through play or the game tickets. You can either win more sweets or exclusive costumes.

As well as being Nintendo's first app, it also marks the first time that they've been pretty open about sharing. As well as linking to your social accounts, you can also post pictures directly from your game to your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It's merely two days in by this point, and these pages seem to be awash with Miitomo shares!
