What Were the Geek Mash Crew Playing/Watching? #3

This week I have carried on my hard adventure with Dark Souls 3. I got about 20 hours in and I'm still going strong. I did have a couple of frustrating boss moments, but I just levelled up my gear, character and finally triumphed. Now I am in the catacombs, which is a bit of a tricky area with skeletons and many traps around every corner. I hope to carry on more soon as determined to finish it, best souls game to date in my opinion.

The other game played this week and finished was Star Fox Zero, i will say this i really liked the game but does have problems. The controls are iffy until you get used to them, and it does feel too similar to Star Fox 64 in some levels. Other than that there are some awesome levels in this newest game, which shows some true potential if they push for a whole new game and go for more exciting levels like some of the later levels.

Watching wise, there's been a few things. First is Game of Thrones. What a start to the series! I loved the episode, although I won't spoil anything, but if you are a fan of the series, you won't be disappointed.

Secondly, there's Fear the Walking Dead Season 2. I'm 3 episodes in and liking it more than the newest Walking Dead. The characters are getting more fleshed out now, and feels a lot more tense.

Last but not least, Doctor Who season 9. I finally finished it and I feel a bit meh about the whole thing. It did have some good episodes here and there, but overall I wasn't too bothered about the story and feel like I'm not too bothered for the next season.

I've been reading the latest Philippa Gregory book, 'The Taming of the Queen'. I am a big History buff, especially with early-modern/Tudor history, so I'm really enjoying this! It's about Henry VIII and his last wife, Katherine Parr.

As for watching, I've been loving that Game of Thrones is back! Also, Fear the Walking Dead continues to be a great series.

And gaming? I've not done too much of it lately, although I am playing through Telltale Games' Game of Thrones, as I have never finished it before.

After a health scare in the hospital and being in there for a week and a half I've been re-reading the Harry Potter books on Kindle and also been watching them too.

I've found a new found appreciation of the books, I forgot about the many Quidditch games in the first book for example and the extra sequences that were missed out of the films like the extra gifts that you see Harry get at Christmas and everything tying together more with the riddle of Nicolas Flamel and Hermoine's solving the potions.

I've been playing Pokémon Picross on the 3DS and getting highly confused by the rules of it, fellow Geek Masher Neil is a Picross fan and has been playing that when it came out.

I've also been playing Ratchet and Clank on PS4. It's a remake of the first one which came out in 2002 with a huge graphical overhaul and new sequences added into the game with weapons from across the series help make it feel fresh. I've loved the Ratchet and Clank games since they came out, especially the Trilogy on the PS3.

I also highly recommend Rewind - VHS Is Not Dead, a game where you control different characters and record their movements to solve puzzles. It looks simple but is extremely fiendish and mind boggling trying to think 5th dimensionally.

This week I had the pleasure of watching Captain America Civil War, review incoming. I also watched episode 51 of Critical Role on Geek and Sundry's Twitch Channel. Critical Role is a great show where in their ow words.. a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors sit around and play Dungeons and Dragons!

Again I haven't played much this week except for a game of Werewolves at my local comic book shop Dark Side Comics.
