MCM London Comic Con Report October 2016 - KAYLEIGH

Kayleigh

So the MCM Comic Con has just finished! The Geek Mash crew went along. I headed there on the Friday and Saturday. The Saturday was absolutely packed and hard to do much, but the Friday was a lot easier to get around.

While it seemed busier than ever, we all had a lot of fun. Check out more below!

What were you most looking forward to?

I always enjoy just going for the atmosphere, the shopping and stalls, catching up with friends and checking out cosplays.

First impressions of the show?

Friday was definitely my favourite day to go! It was a lot quieter, and there was a lot of space to wander around. Saturday was insane! Way too busy and hot, and a little too tricky to look at much. I think I'd rather stick to Friday and Sunday next time.

Other than that, there was plenty to check out.

Did you meet anyone there? Celebs, artists, writers?

I didn't have any photo sessions booked this time, but I saw the usual bunch of familiar faces in Comic Village!

Favourite Cosplay?

There was a woman cosplaying as Ursula at the Disney meet that had such an elaborate costume!

Favourite thing you bought?
I loved my Totoro musical statue!

Was there something you wished you bought but didn't?
I paid for a lucky dip (only £1). I ended up just winning a cheap lollypop. Ah well, lol.

Go to any booths at the show? Try any games?
I went around most of the booths there this time around. I also tried out a game called Birthdays, which was a little weird and hard to navigate, but I did get it in the end. I would've tried VR, but the queue was always so long whenever I went past.

Was there anything you wanted to try but missed?
I think I should've tried some more games, really!

Anything you wish was there?
I do get a little bored of seeing the same things on each stall, to be honest. Luckily, it didn't seem to be as bad this time around, so no complaints!

Anything you tried this time you haven't normally at past MCM's?
I went to a Marvel press lunch for the launch of a comic, The Unbeatables. I've not done something like that before there!

Favourite moment of the show?
I think I enjoyed hanging out with my friends, browsing the stalls and the Disney meet this time around!

What would you cosplay as at future shows given the chance?
One day, I WILL cosplay as Lara Croft. I'd also like to try out some more Disney, like perhaps Belle or something?
